My most recent dexa scan was performed on January 25, 2013 and I am happy to be posting the results as promised in the blog on Osteopenia/Osteoporosis. These results are compared to the results of my last dexa scan done on January 25, 2011.
The bone mineral density of the lumbar spine from L1 to L4 is 1.106/T-score of -0.7 and a density increase of 3.3%; the left hip is 0.802/T-score of -1.6 and a density increase of 1.6%; the right hip is 0.829/T-score of -1.4 and a density increase of 4.1%. Seeing each of the numbers increase positively is very exciting to me and I really think it is all due to adding Strontium in my vitamin and supplement regiment. This is the first time in years that neither my general practitioner nor gynecologist has recommended I start taking a prescription such as Fosamax to increase the density of my bones. So, I will continue to take the Strontium. But instead of cycling it every 2 days for 2 days, I will start taking it every day. This is along with the calcium/magnesium (1,000mg/500mg ratio) 2x per day, vitamin D and horsetail for silica. Remember to take the Strontium away from the calcium/magnesium or any other minerals for that matter because they compete for absorption.
Whenever anyone says, “I don’t think I could take so many vitamins and supplements.” I reply, “It’s a simple thing to do when you know there are no harmful side effects.” Good health isn’t achieved by a magic bullet. Faithfully and consistently nurturing your body with the most natural foods and products available will give your body what it needs to live a healthy, productive life.

I am definitely going to try strontium for my osteopenia and appreciate the information.

I am so glad I didn't start with medicine for my osteopenia and will start using strontium right away.
